i just spoke to Patagonia and said it would be another 2-2.5 months to get my refund. it has already been 25 days since i returned it, so i was wondering why it hadn't shown up yet on my credit card. Covid excuse. um, how big is your company again? this is not a mom and pop business, it should not take 3 months for a refund. good products, but no longer buying from the website again.
I should have read the return reviews before online purchase. Even though the online order goes through the Canadian site, the item is delivered from Nevada. While their site touts easy returns, it is anything but. Wanted to merely exchange but no RMA because it goes back to the US. Customer service advised to send it back to the Toronto office where they might help?? Will give that a shot but from the reviews, I'm not expecting much. The quality of the item is not in question however the customer service is woefully inadequate and the refund section of the online site in ambiguous and misleading. Buyer beware and save yourself grief. Order #CA10106038

Still waiting for a refund after 3 weeks. Poorly made Woolyester fleece. Returned the item. Contacted Patagonia customer service, who told me to wait another week, and now just keep giving excuse after excuse, e.g. Brexit caused the delay, we changed carrier so there's a delay, we can't refund you because there's an audit in the warehouse! Still no refund after 9 emails to Patagonia customer service. So much for their 'IRONCLAD GUARANTEE' for HASSLE-FREE RETURNS. This company is an absolute joke. They treat their customers appallingly.
I had a figure 4 jacket that after a few years all the 'welded' seams appeared to degrade and split open. The jacket was worn for approx 3 months a year. Thinking this should be covered by the 'ironclad guarantee' I was advised that this was not as patagonia advised me that it expected that the lifetime of a jacket should be around 4 yrs. To my surprise they refused to honour their ironclad guarantee. I now have (and have had for some time) a useless jacket that they refused to repair.
Do not expect the well advertised ironclad guarantee to cover faults in a jacket older than around 4 years!
Please consider other manufacturers with longer lasting gear.
I’ve been buying Patagonia stuff since I was in high school in early 90’s. Almost all of the products have been great. The customer service as always been excellent. I love the companies commitment to reducing environmental impact environmental education & promoting a work place that cares about the employees. Love to see them using hemp & incorporating recycled fabrics. Do you know of another company that actively discourages you from consuming more? Probably not.
Nearly every time I’ve selected a substitute product to save a few dollars I regretted it & usually it cost me many more dollars replacing the substitute.
An example of their quality is a pair of long underwear I bought in 1998. They just got retired after this winter. They were used heavily too, several years of ski bumming. Bike commuting and daily use in Missoula & Chicago winters. They had a few runs & were thinner but they still functioned. My girlfriend took them to a cloths recycling place or I’d have used them next winter.
Only negatives I’ve had is sometimes sizing runs big but this may be the sizing standards changing in the clothing industry more than Patagonia. The other is the current website is a nightmare to use with my phone to the point it’s not an option I have to use my computer.
Overall satisfied customer & huge fan.
I was a member of the Patagonia Pro Program for over 15 years as a PSIA certified ski instructor and as a fly fishing guide. I purchased climbing gear from Chouinard Equipment since the late 1960’s, and I purchased clothing from Patagonia since around 1975. I’m still using some clothing and gear items that I purchased back it those days. I’ve remained loyal to the brand because the designs and quality have been outstanding. I’ve promoted it with my students and customers.
Recently, I was denied renewal of my Pro status because of changes in the standards for qualification. I understand this and accept that requirements change.
However, now that my Pro status has been canceled, I am unable to use an existing special discount code that was granted to me last Fall and is now still valid.
The coupon code was for 45% discount on “friends and family” items . I received it 10/29/2020, several months before my Pro account was canceled. It is valid until 04/30/2021. I delayed using it with the intention of using it in late winter, when new items and colors would probably be available. Now, however, it will no longer work because my Pro status has unexpectedly not been renewed.
Based upon the email from Patagonia, this seemed like a good faith offer: “While we’re not holding member events like we used to, we are giving you a promo code for 45% off for you and your family. We understand how important it is to look after your loved ones and we appreciate everything you do as an outdoor professional”.
Seems like a very impolite way to end a long, mutually beneficial relationship.
I bought a down jacket from them, very warm and if it ever gets ripper I send it off to them in the summer and it is repaired and sent back to me before winter!
This is the best company in the world. I like them even more than I like my own companies! LOL :) They help the world, manufacture superior gear and they stand by products with incredible dedication. I had a mountaineering jacket purchased in the 1990s. It lasted for 17 years and was still my favorite jacket. Though, it stopped being as water repellant as it used to be. Now, I used this for trekking, skiing, motorcycle riding, extreme sledding, hiking etc. The jacket should have died in 3 years. I went into the shop to get some water repellant spray- and to my shock the rep said that these Patagonia jackets are NEVER supposed to let water in. They replaced the jacket - over my objection. Of course in my shame (because I really had my moneys worth from the old jacket) I bought two other jackets. I will always go to Patagonia first. We jokingly call it "Patagucci" because their products are expensive. But the truth it, given how long they last and how the company stands by its products, the value of Patagonia exceeds anything else- by far.
Mark from customer service!!
Such a wonderful customer service experience, really appreciate the authenticity and helpfulness I received from Mark
WORST PLACE TO BUY FROM.... waited over 4 weeks for my package to come, for it to come to be the wrong fkn jacket I ordered completely different rip of version the thinnest rice paper material. Looked at the package to see it was sent from CHINA..Disgusting!!!! I emailed the place for them to reply and say they are closed for 3 weeks. Scammers! Have filed a case with PayPal to get my money back from you dogs.
I recently had an experience where after returning a very expensive winter jacket (I’m between sizes and neither my regular size nor the size up worked), I waited two weeks after I saw they received my return to contact them because I hadn’t received a refund. I completely understand with shipping taking longer due to the holiday season and Covid, etc. that we all need to exercise patience, right?
Well.. I was told that my refund simply went missing in the system and that it would be on the way soon.
Next time I reached out, I was told that the refund was sent to PayPal and given a transaction ID. I contacted PayPal customer service who told me that that’s the wrong transaction ID and the amount isn’t even close to the refund amount.
This time I was told that sometimes the “computer systems just don’t communicate” properly. Hmm..
This all happened over three months of time. So while Patagonia’s “computer system” was holding onto my money, I’ve gone most of the winter in Wisconsin without a new jacket. Super not a happy first time Patagonia camper customer. Do better.
Update 2.18.21: Matt at the NV offices helped turn my experience around. We negotiated a fair deal and I received a new winter coat in time for the tail end of the coldest weather Wisconsin has seen all winter. Feeling grateful to be warm. Looking forward to many seasons ahead ✌️
Exceptional customer service!!
I had a navy blue Patagonia sweatshirt for just under 12 months, and accidentally damaged it with bleach!!
I emailed Patagonia and asked if there’s anything they could do help restore it, and they quickly responded and asked me to send photos. Once they had reviewed the damage they advised to send the jumper back to them and they will send a replacements out for me. It took just over a week from sending my jumper back to receiving my new one.
Couldn’t praise the efficient enough, especially considering being in the middle of a pandemic.
Thanks again
Took money for virtual gift card but never sent it. Customer service rep Lucas, was very rude and insulting. He argued with me about the quality of my email server even though when he actually sent the gift card info, I received it instantaneously.
